Week 22

We are at the 5 month mark!!! Only 19 more to go. Tanner says it has gone by really fast, like a rocket.  Tanner’ s Spanish is OK, he said that he needs to learn how to pronounce the “r” in Spanish. It is so hard.
Tanner and the Elders in his district have started doing the P90X workout program for their daily excerise. I asked him if he had gained weight since he left. He said not yet, but it would easy to get fat there because people always seem to give them lots of food and it is rude there if they don’t eat it all.
Tanner and his companion serve with two other Elders in their area. He said that there is a lot if work to do and they keep busy. They work with the members to help with the missionary work. It helps keep the members active too.
Tanner would love emails or letters. His email address is tanner.bundy@myldsmail.com
His mailing address is:

Tanner wanted to share two videos.

Week 21

After dealing with the double dragon last week and Tanner’s companion being sick last week, Tanner is ready to get back to work. Today was his P day and he and his companion and 2 other Elders were able to go for a hike where they planted a banner with the scripture of Alma 48:17 it reads ” Yes, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yes, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.”
He told us that he had a dog named Wilson but only for one night.  Tanner’s companion and another Elder came home with a dog. They let it stay the night in their apartment and they let it outside in the morning and it left. Then Elder Gardenhire and Elder Resendiz found the dog and put him in their house while they went to church. When they came home the dog made a mess in their house and Elder Gardenhire was mad and threw the dog out. They have not seen him since. Which is a good thing since having a dog is against the rules.
Tanner must be missing his guitars because he asked if we could email him pictures of them. He said he was able to play a guitar this past week.
He asked me to share this video also.

Week 20

Tanner was really short with his emails today. He was fighting what he called double dragon which is vomiting and diaherra at the same time. He thinks he has food poisoning from the liver or tacos he ate. I think he needs to be more careful with what he eats and drinks. He really likes his new companion, he is super cool. They have been teaching a guy and is scheduled for baptism in May. The people they teach must go to church 5 times before they are allowed to be baptized. He said a lot if people that they are teaching work on Sunday so it is hard for them to go to church.
I can’t wait only 27 more days and we get to Skype Tanner. I am so anxious to hear his voice and see how he looks. It will be the best gift ever- birthday present for Paige and Mother’s day gift for me and early Father’s day gift for Rolf. Happy, happy, happy!

Week 19

Tanner has a fairly tough week this week. It was Semana Santa (Holy Week) and many people were on vacation. He said that during this week Jesus life is acted out and they end it by crucifying a guy. He said in some places they will actually nail a guy to the cross that has been training all year to do it. That’s crazy! He said people did not really want to talk to them this week. Tanner enjoyed watch General Conference and able to watch it in English with the other gringos.  He said that he enjoyed the analogies about the light in the distance and how we need to push for it.
Even though Tanner is 1500 miles away, he still shows that he has a sense of humor.  Paige was telling how stressed she was about her senior project and he told her to push forward, do the things you have to and you will accomplish them because you are Paige Bundy and you will accomplish what you set your mind to . Then he told he to remember what the great Roger Miller said-all you gotta do is put your mind to it, knuckle down, buckle down, and do it, do it, do it. What a ego booster!

He really liked this video and wanted me to share it with everyone.
