Week 13-16

It has been awhile since we updated Tanner’s blog. He has been busy teaching the word of God. He has been a  part of six people being baptized.  Tanner is enjoying Mexico but he is not enjoying the weather. He says it is freezing at night and in the morning but during the day it is hot. He was able to play guitar with an investagator. They played some blues. He said it was good but also distracting.  Tanner shared one of his favorite scriptures with us. I really like 1 Nephi 19:23   23 And I did read many things unto them which were written in the books of Moses; but that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord their Redeemer I did read unto them that which was written by the prophetIsaiah; for I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning.

Especially the end part that talks about likening the scriptures to ourselves.  When we study the scriptures it can make it more interesting if we put our names in there instead of the names in the scriptures.  It is also helpful to look at all of it especially the Book of Mormon as a message to us.  Because it really was written for us in our day and we can learn something from every chapter.  So I recomend that you guys read the Book of Mormon daily becasue there are always messages in the we can learn.  Even if it is only like 5 verses a day, it is still important.  And always accompany you scripture study with prayer.  I know that as you do these things you will become closer to God and will be strengthened spriritual and mentally.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
